Schematic map — relative positions, not to scale.

Cameroonian forest honey is harvested from wild colonies, with no managed hive, in the massifs of Adamaoua and the East — a terroir product with strong potential, but a still-informal value chain. Distinct from managed-hive beekeeping (FA05).

Key challenges in Cameroon
  • Harvesting sometimes destructive to wild colonies.
  • No standardised filtering/packaging, a barrier to formal sale.
  • Low confidence in the referential for this value chain: production areas to be confirmed on the ground.
Opportunities
  • Positioning as a differentiated terroir product ("wild forest honey").
  • Filtering and packaging to standard for access to formal markets.
  • Recovery of wax and residues into cosmetics.
Forest harvest

A natural resource, to be harvested without exhausting the colony.

  • Harvesting techniques respectful of wild colonies.
  • Collection organised by forest zone.
Agrovita's role

Agrovita structures the filtering and packaging of forest honey.

  • Engineering of cold filtering and packaging.
  • Positioning as a terroir product in urban markets.

From raw material to the circular economy (N1 → N4)

Note NS-20260829/DG/XPN-REF1: four processing levels, from raw packaged product (N1) to recovered by-products and waste (N4), with the destination industrial sector(s).
